Just came across the compelling and cheery work of Dutch designer Nina in vorm, I can’t get enough of bold colors and strong forms (really, I had a hard time choosing a few items to feature!). She has a really strong sense of layout and proportions, not to mention her daring combination of vintage-reclaimed dinnerware with bold visuals. It’s all reminiscent for me of a birthday party in a sun shined backyard with perhaps a cupcake and pineapple juice?

I’m always in the look out for nice French prints (we are a French family, so I like to have my native language on the walls ^_^), so when I saw these illos from Eva Juliet, I just couldn’t resist! She also has Englishified prints, and a very lovely herb set which would be perfect for any kitchen!

I just came across Erin Jang’s illustrative work; Her wedding invites combines a quirky cuteness with super special details (well, I would be in heaven, would I be tying the knot!).

I love browsing trough ad agencies and design studio’s portfolio. These retro feel illo made my day! They are part of a children’s book from Eight Hour Day called “Eli, no!”, referring to a phrase often said by their nephew to their trouble making dog Eli.

Jill Gallenstein’s illos are mesmerizing; I love how she makes patterns turn chaotic. From her artist statement:

These drawings suggest a worldview created from the assemblage of the local. The audience broadly surveys the work, but must telescope inward to investigate the minute details. A rhythm emerges where the viewer oscillates between the specific and the general. The temptation is to see one’s own life story in the drawings: rocket ships, Christmas tree ornaments, a grandmother’s baked goods. The goal, however, is to suggest that point particles exist as infinite waves of possibility until some measurement locks them into place. With that suspension of finiteness, the world is perpetually fresh and new; the possibility for both good and evil exists, and there is an awareness that each needs the other to define itself. The drawings serve as models for the equality found in every moment of space and time.
